ohh, that made me lol hard.
If you google 'IAX termination' you'll get a bunch. I used nufone, but they went down and i switched to callcentric, since i haven't been using iax, but as far as IAX goes, https://www.teliax.com/ is a good one. I'm probably going to try them once E911 drains the last of my money, lol. have fun, but play within the lines.

DiGiT, if you're interested in getting into phones, I think spoofcard's nice if you're on the move and you don't have a server, but if you can get asterisk or freeswitch set up, it's much more versatile as well as free. If you've never used it you can grab a copy of Trixbox. W/ your own server you can always write a simple script that'll allow you to dial in, enter your desired ani and dial out.

this is cool.. I somewhat new a bit about this already.. although.. can you help me with a bit more of a tutorial.
(More for other newbies too)
so far, you told me to grab asterisk or freeswitch, or Trixbox.
What is the most basic and easy to set up - trixbox ?
and should I use a dedicated system.. or could I set it up on the system I am using now (with win xp) (maybe use vw)
and what do I need for the incoming line, and outgoing line. or can I set up my voip to work with it, or both..

oh lawd....i haven't written a tutorial in 5 years, lol.
Trixbox is a telephony oriented linux distro based on CentOS, which itself is based on Red Hat. You can install it just like any other linux distro. If you've got the space on your HDD and you're curious about this kind of stuff it's worth playing with. It comes with all your basic telephony needs, so you don't need to go searching for packages, though you might need to do a big of dependency surfing (but not much).
It's not that hard to do.
1)download and install it, http://trixbox.org/downloads
2)follow a step-by-step guide (there's a ton online like http://trixbox.org/w...-install-guide) that'll take you through the configuration process
3) front $10 for SIP/IAX, https://www.teliax.com/ which I mentioned before.
and you're good to go.
Give it a shot if you'd like, and if you still need help, holler, and I'll write up a tutorial.
